A representative of SSE "CERWM" participated in the IAEA Technical Meeting on "Planning the Next Generation of Underground Research Laboratories to Support Geological Disposal Programmes for High-Level Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel," which took place on June 1–5, 2026, in Prague, Czech Republic.
During the event, the participants discussed the current status of national programs for the geological disposal of radioactive waste, the experience in developing and operating underground research laboratories, the results of key scientific experiments, and innovative approaches to demonstrating the long-term safety of deep geological repositories.
